An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Infrastructure – HSE Advisor to join Rolls-Royce Submarines.

We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor with a background in facilities management (FM) and/or small construction works. The ideal candidate will be familiar with CDM regulations and experienced in managing high-hazard activities such as working at height, fire safety, and lifting operations, with a strong track record of overseeing contractor activities.

Reporting to the local HSE Manager, and based on a sound understanding of the local HSE performance and risk profile, you will support the implementation of HS&E management arrangements to ensure compliance with requirements and contribute to the drive towards a zero-harm culture in support of RRSL’s priorities. You will be part of a team defining and delivering agreed improvement plans, proactively identifying emerging issues, and promoting good practice. Collaboration with Business HS&E colleagues and the wider HS&E function will be key to building a strong team ethos and ensuring alignment with business and functional strategies.

What you will be doing:

With this exciting opportunity you will be involved in:

  • Actively engage and communicate with stakeholders to positively influence a strong HSE culture on site.
  • Perform and record regular site tours/inspections, ensuring standards and behaviours are consistently maintained.
  • Provide professional advice and guidance to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of our HSE management systems.
  • Identify trends and ensure improvement plans are completed in full.

Who we’re looking for:

In particular, we are looking for an individual with:

  • NEBOSH Certificate (General/Construction).
  • Ideally, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • IEMA/ISEP Environmental Certificate or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as an HSE Advisor/Manager within construction or facilities management.
  • A proven track record of working with contractors on construction/infrastructure projects.

For more than 60 years Rolls-Royce Submarines has designed, supplied and supported the nuclear propulsion plant, providing power for all UK Royal Navy nuclear submarines.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines an individual must hold a Security Check clearance. We will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t already have it. Due to the nature of work we conduct, we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.
